N6RFI Radio - Amateur - CAP - Scanning - GMRS

N6RFI

This site is home for my radio hobbies.  Here you will find information on the N6RFI repeater, other amateur topics of interest to me, Civil Air Patrol communications, GMRS, and radio scanners.  You might even find a few other topics here, such as computers and networking, photography, hiking, guns, and off-roading.  Stay tuned!

My shack is a little different than most.  My amateur radio activity is currently limited to 2 meters and 440.  I run a Kenwood TM-D710 mobile in my truck.  Portables include a Motorola XTS5000 VHF for CAP and amateur, a Motorola HT1250 VHF for amateur only, and a Motorola HT1250 UHF programmed for amateur and GMRS.  My shack includes a few dedicated CAP radios as well.  I have an EF Johnson base for VHF-FM, an EF Johnson 5100ES portable, and a Micom 2 HF radio.  Scanners are RS PRO-106, PRO-93, and PRO-50.  Eventually I want to add an HF rig for amateur and SWL use, a base radio for amateur use including SSB, and experiement with D-STAR.

You can browse my site using the menu at the top of the page.
